The live steam operation is worth the visit in the Chiloquin, OR area. It's called "Train Mountain". trainmountain.org
Good non-member rides in the front corner of the property - but BECOME A MEMBER!
The tracks are long, switches-a-plenty, transfer tables, roundhouses, parking, camping, firewood, road underpasses, full shop facilities..... it is truly a sight to behold when an event is on. The trackplan is mind blowing. I happened upon there a few summers ago, and ended up with a yearly membership. Everyone expects you to help clear branches and pinecones from the ROW and maybe help add pieces of sectional track. If you belong to a model railroad club, the same prep work is done for an operating session.
If I was into that scale, OH BOY - how about an operating rotary?
