The Red Top (Red Hat) on east Trent near Park road, not good, meth busts hourly. Not in Spokane, but worth a mention is the Holiday Inn Express in Wenatchee, trackside, last time I was there they actually understood why someone would want a room trackside, and cookies and milk at bedtime (windows trackside are double insulated, so if window is closed you won't get shook out of bed---don't know why more motels don't do this, would cut down on freeway noise too and allow for more trackside building too). Back in Spokane Valley, Pines road, used to be called a Best Western, (changing chain, so don't know what it's called now--located across road from Valley Hospital) has a fair shot at the SI (UP) if you get a freeway side room--not as much freeway noise as you might expect as it sits up on a hill, you can hear trains whistle for crossings soon enough to get to window to see. Tracks on other side of freeway, hotel close to Valley Mall so wife is Happy.
