Asking for some ideas and or information.
Anybody have any idea what goes on over at TO ? I became a member just after they started. I have heard in the past that site owner will censor an item and doesn't even tell the person why. Most people know how to conduct themselves on a public forum and I don't think I ever crossed that line.
I have spent most of my life on a locomotive for the SP and don't mind answering questions or tell about the past to interested people. One of the main reasons I stayed on that site was because I worked with a lot of people in the past that are members. I have talked about items where anyone involved are either dead or no longer in a position to do any harm to anyone. Otherwise it has just been day to day railroading in engine service over the last 49 plus years.
In the past I have posted on the TO site and had my postings stay right there to be read. In the last month or so, I have posted items, and they would be published on the site. Fine. Later in the day my posting was gone. It could have been up for a day, maybe just a few minutes and it was gone. In this last month I wrote one reply and it never was posted. Last week I wrote a reply about wig-wags. In the middle of it as I was looking at the screen, it disappeared. Still on line, still on TOs site, still on the thread but my reply that I had not finished was gone. I wrote TO a detailed note and outlined what had happened. I went to send the note and it kept coming back to me that I had not typed in the correct number. I tried 2 more times, making sure I had not screwed up and got the same answer back. Later in the day, I tried again, just asking someone to call me. It accepted that request but to this day I have not heard a word from them.
My neighbor is a the No. 1 geek for a national major health care chain and I asked his thoughts on it. He came over and everything checked out just fine. He makes a computer do things that I never thought possible. (computer, fiber input, etc. OK) He wondered if someone had found a back door to the site. But it did get me thinking if it was possible that an ex official or a carrier was putting pressure somewhere. Why would TO not reply to e-mails, etc.?
I am asking if anyone has had trouble with TO or would know why they don't reply. Its too bad. It was a nice site at least for a retired rail.
