There was a 1970s police show filmed in the Subway too. It was one of the mainstream mid-70s shows, although I forget which one. A group of vigilantes kidnapped an wanted to kill this high profile defense lawyer that was defending criminals. Even though he was fierce rivals with the cop, the cop set it up so he could run and get away from the vigilantes when they took gave the cop the opportunity to kill the guy in the Subway.
