For a High speed rail system to be effective, it must go from a city center to another city center. Consider Paris, the TGV trains start in the heart of Paris or for some at the International airport. Where in the LA or SF areas could such termini be built?

A second aspect is the limited nature of intermediate stops. There are few, if any.

Finally, the high-speed network is not used for freight service. How many trains would use the line daily?

My opinion is that high-speed rail in California is doomed to failure.
