I'm really in a quandry. As a loyal taxpayer for over 55 years, do I reinvest in Ike's Interstate system, which as we speak is falling apart rapidly or do I invest in a mass transit system, meaning heavy rail, light rail and all rail.
As we all know, our current transportation choices in our late great country are very limited. We have a freight system that has been stripped of over 200,000 miles of RoW. Just lately, some class ones are starting to re-invest in their infrastructures because they have to. Some politicos are fighting this all the way.
Our passenger system is a joke except for some commuter agencies on the east and west coast and Chicago where they HAVE to move people. Amtrak California, Chicago service and the east coast corridor are good. The rest sucks.
Gas is $4.50 per gallon as of today and will go much higher. Airlines are cutting flights.
WHAT DO WE DO???
