Regarding the reliability question, they better be reliable as TriMet has built a schedule that requires all units to be operational. At least one of the sub-contractors, Northwest Rail Electric, has a sterling reputation for quality work. Of course they can always borrow power from host railroad Portland & Western but the seating is pretty limited.
I am real hopeful that the operational units will have better horns than the demostrator. When that unit visited Beaverton a few years back I was really disappointed with the awful sounding horn.
I am also hopeful that Colorado Railcar will survive their financial difficulties as I agree with other postings that this market can only grow.
