YES--YES--YES that is the plan as it stands now for BOTH 11 and 14 to detour via Tehachapi (Walong) on 6-22-08.
This Trainorders dot com discussion thread has BOTH 2005 sources AGREEING that this is the established Amtrak plan unless it is RADICALLY changed.
These two Inside Sources that announced the successful 10-23-05 Tehachapi Amtrak 11 Detour are "stevedavis" and "silagi".
Another completely different INSIDE souce also phoned me to CONFIRM this.
This detour IS IN the Amtrak computer as I write this
If you want to ride over Tehachapi NOW is the time to buy a ticket for either train 11 or 14.
BOTH of those trains scheduled for June 22 , 2008 in California have already been planned to detour:

Go to the Amtrak website and TRY to book a dummy reservation from Emeryville OR Oakland to LA on the 22nd and you will see train 11 MISSING from the choices provided.
Go ahead and try that and you will find out yourself

I did not want to look too crazy for announcing this myself.
I hope you get to ride Tehachapi this time around !
I was so very--very--very fortunate to be able to ride the 2005 David Gunn Train 11 Detour.
I doubt either of these trains will be so uncrowded and wide open as that LEGENDARY and AWESOME 10-23-05 Detour.
