I take it that you'll share that "cheaper" (than a surface trolley) monorail cost estimate you've done, or have access to, with the rest of us, right?
I can tell by your comments that you've obviously had a great deal of experience with the construction costs of such elevated structures, in Earthquake country, with high water tables (like around the Santa Ana River in that part of Anaheim), right?
Disneyland California's monorail was built for and uses the older small monorail vehicles, not the high capacity Orlando vehicles. And, Disneyland was not exactly keen, in discussions I was privy to, about extending their system, and making it a public system. So having actually seen, and been involved in some of the discussion and work that looked at a monorail option, I'm not quite as sold as you are.
I do like to know new facts, whenever they pop up, though. New facts can always improve or change an analysis. So please do send us the information about that cheaper monorail cost estimate that you've seen..... I'd love to see whatever new facts you could contribute on that.
