Monorail advocates need to look no further than Las Vegas. That system is the best, spot on, dead
nuts system to illustrate an "after-the-fact" effort. It theoretically serves many casinos, offers
point to point transportation, is quick and almost comfortable. It also doesn't obscure any of the
wonderful front views of any of the casinos because for it's total length it zigzags back and forth
around, between, and behind every stop. The one thing it does well and is applicable to the points
being made is that it ends at the convention center and allows (or allowed starting soon) the
convention visitor to park for free at the MGM for less than $10 ride to and back from said center.
Other than that it's not really well patronized and was hugely expensive to build. Conceptually
it's a winner, in practice not so much, and as said, be careful what you wish for.
