One can't make the arguments Mike Pechner is making at the same
time arguing that there is no connection between freight
and SMART. So which is it Mike? Are they connected or aren't they?

We'll find out for sure in November, but I don't think
SMART can pass the rail tax in the middle of a recession with concerns
about freight trains pushed into night-time operations impacting
property values. 2/3 is a high hurdle, when one county (and a majority
of its BOS) in the district has already voted it down and is unlikely
to change its position.

For sure, the Sonoma County development community is going to throw a lot of money
at the measure trying to get it passed.
