Forty-eight years ago a coffee shop in midtown Manhattan used Lionel equipment to deliver food to patrons in booths. I seem to remeber it was on East 52nd Street. Special racks allowed O-gauge flat cars to carry plates. I never saw any food spilled although the cook-engineer sometimes would stop the train at the wrong booth.
The restaurant had a few railroad themed decorations on the walls. Food was so-so coffee shop hamburgers. etc. I can't remember the name of that place. It was not a railroad theme name though.
