The 2016 British Open golf tournament at Royal Troon in Ayrshire, Scotland has a busy rail line as a backdrop. Footage of the tournament shows the Ayrshire Coast Line route in the background, particularly behind the 11th hole. Abellio ScotRail EMUs are visible as they pass the course.
I remember the 2015 U.S. Open at Chambers Bay, near Tacoma, Wash. had the BNSF Seattle Sub as a backdrop, so it was interesting to see Amtrak, BNSF and UP trains passing by.
Here in Portland, the Eastmoreland Golf Course in the southeastern part of the city is adjacent to both the UP, ex-SP Portland-Eugene main line and the TriMet MAX Orange Line light rail.
Also in Portland, the Heron Lakes Golf Club borders the BNSF Fallbridge Sub and the UP line that joins the BNSF route at North Portland Junction.
