I heard them again at 5pm yesterday. So to sum up their day, they ran north to the Snohomish interchange at 11am, then returned to Woodinville at 5pm. I see today there is a new GATX hopper at the glass company, so they delivered one load. I wonder if the glass company will take another carload or if that was the last one?
As for the future of the line, there is a very slim window of opportunity for a passenger excursion train. But so far I have heard of nobody with the money willing to invest in the needed track upgrades to bring it up to minimum class standards for passenger trains. I hear the track is currently classified as "excepted".
I fear the "world class bike trail" numbskulls will soon get their wish.
