See, that makes me angry. There are very few places in the country where guys and girls can go to learn the art and science of steam locomotive operation. When a place is hostile to people who come to learn and help, then it's going to do harm to the steam preservation movement. I won't call steam preservation an "industry" as some people do (like Wasatch) because it's really a tiny group and essentially not-for-profit.
I think steam aficionado Rob Peartree worked at the NN for a while, correct? I always enjoy his interesting and always classy posts on other forums. Other steam guys show their egos, but not Rob. Ego is one of the things that hurts steam preservation, and I get a sense from the post by "breakdown" above that there are some egos at the Nevada Northern.
