Yes, I remember having lunch there. I worked in Menlo Park 1983-1994.
The layout was working on my lunch visit. I was impressed. Food was good too, as far as I remember. Seemed to be a popular lunch spot.
I rode Caltrain from Sunnyvale to Menlo Park for about 9 years. Loved those old 1920's coaches in my early years, pulled by SP freight engines. You could actually walk down the steps before the train stopped and lean out and enjoy the view. Those cars went out when the new double-deckers came in.
Anybody remember this? When those double-deckers came in, all the seats could be turned either direction, at first. But people would get on and put their feet on the "opposite" seat, as if claiming that seat as well as their own. This led to unpleasant encounters (I had one myself) so Caltrain fixed the seats so they were not turnable--half went one way, half the other.
Fond memories of the Bay Area!
