Well, the emergency must be just about over, because traffic has slumped back down to last week's average. I was surprised that so many trains used the SF Valley connection (both the Coast and Mojave lines converge in Burbank) since the Mojave line is buggered up just past Burbank Jct. for construction of new underpasses tied in with CalTrans freeway work - down to one track in what used to be dual tracks - single track "shoo-fly" in place until construction of the new elevated ROW is complete - if it was only the railroad, it would be done already, but, as I said, it's tied in with CalTrans (looks like same contractor) so no one seems to know when it'll get done... Metrolink hates having to wait for the track to clear. It will make train watching over by the old Lockheed plant miserable, but we can always find some other spots. Maybe the new WalMart parking lot?
