Thanks guys for the updates (yes, it is railroad Canon but nobody from the general population would ever figure that out). If the e/b Q doesn't get out of Roseville until evening, that would explain the lack of visibility lately. Might the reefer loads be predominantly w/b this time of year and account for the increased number of presumably empty reefers seen e/b on various drags other than the Q? Have seen one e/b Z in the moonlight about 2 am, but that is definitely not my usual observation time.
