Just want to second this and ask that people help spread the word and show up and ride behind this beautiful locomotive.

I know most foamers are cheap, but make a donation and help the PRPA keep doing the fine work they are doing to get the SP&S700 out and under steam.

I can't stand the number of people that complain about the lack of steam then don't or won't contribute the the groups that make these magical events happen. ($$$ here, as that's what really makes it work)

The amount or work, effort and cost to make this kind of trip requires some recognition, and it should be financial in nature. Take all the pictures you want, but without all of us supporting these operations next year we might just find ourselves talking about the "good ol' days" when steam locomotives could get out and run.

Special thanks are due to the Oregon Pacific Railroad for hosting this, as well as other steam events. With a public path right next the the tracks the photo's are great, and the views of the river from the east bank are amazing too!

It's going to be hot this weekend in Portland and should be a great time.
