Metrolink is the primary operator which has allowed 3751 to operate on its rails in recent years and has generally been a great host railroad.
I've personally been on several trips just to S Berdo each spring behind 3751, in the past 5 years, just for RR days at the depot. I have been told that this "annual" outing has only been "temporarily" cancelled, pending completion of the track and station work for the Redlands extension. This was because this construction work has the area around the depot used for displays torn up.
It's interesting to see how an opportunity to go out and photograph and see 3751 traversing some interesting territory can even become fodder for odd speculation.....? Of course, I actually like trains, so I think this is a great opportunity to see the big steamy choo-choo run......
What I really want to know, so I can get some good shots, at prime locations, is what is the schedule for the moves to and from the dedication event? Does anyone have that available?
Is there anyone else out there, who likes trains, and has Wednesday off, who wants to join me? This sounds like a great "Trains Magazine" moment for some interesting location shots, to me.....?
