When I was working on the problems with so many folks running the Blue line gates and causing accidents, before LADOT finally integrated the traffic signals, the "average" blood alcohol of the grade crossing fatalities was over double the legal limit.

So yeah, they'll take a tox screen on this dufus, in the autopsy. And, at this time of night, it wouldn't come as a surprise to me. if he was blotto....since he was witnessed driving his bike like a fool.

We had several employee fatalities from auto accidents on Alameda Street in the years I worked for SP, most of those I was familiar with, also involved drunk drivers.

It's a big part of stupid that is really hard to fix.....
