Flooding in Burlington IA

Burlington Iowa Newspaper

Was looking at flood pictures on the Burlington Hawk Eye newspaper web site, it's really looking pretty bad. I can't figure how to direct link to key pictures, but if you look at the aerial pictures and Burlington pictures, there's photos of the Illinois side of the river where the dike by Gulfport has ruptured. Under Burlington pictures, there's photos of city workers pushing muddy river water out of the depot where it had flooded.

We used to live there, so from the pictures it looks like the river has flooded BNSF from just east of the river approach through the river bottoms to the bluffs, and on the west side from the downtown yard through downtown. The paper reports the river hit a new high on Tuesday, even higher than the flood of 93.
