The comment made earlier holds true for many metro areas, but here in north Idaho and neighboring Spokane most of us are fortunate to drink from what has been rated as one of the cleanest and must abundant fresh water sources on the planet. The Rathdrum Prairie-Spokane Aquifer, fed by lakes and streams, has gazillions of gallons of water flowing westward through a mass of rock and gravel, nature's own filtration system. Got everyone in a lather back when BNSF built its refueling station at Hauser, Idaho.
