When Nestle bought the P&M Cedar/Siskiyou Forest Products site they bought the included water
rights. When they started considering plant size it was decided to try and procure some additional
water which did not fly with the locals so recently they announced a major reduction in the plant
size back to slightly smaller than originally proposed. Included with the large plant proposal was
an on site unloading facility for the inbound plastic pellets. The smaller facility would most
likely include an offload and truck transfer from Shasta City though that was subject to fuel and
other costs and subject to review. What we just heard was that thanks to the current negative
comments on bottled water in general and shrinking of disposal incomes that the facility might
not get built at all.
