I just watched the old Roger Corman film, "The Wild Angels." (See what a movie connoisseur I am -- ha ha.) A short ways into the film, the fictitious Angels gang out of San Pedro makes a trip to Mecca, CA to pay an unfriendly visit a Mexican biker gang. Anyway, when they arrive there's a shot of the old SP station sign.

In 2008 the UP had a serious detainment here. On Trainorders, one person said the line from Colton to Yuma must be cursed because of all the incidents over the years.
