The proposed line that would have followed the Colorado River from Needles all the way to Grand Junction. This was proposed in the 1880s long before the dams were built. The proposal accepted that there would have been only one possible connection point (Lee's Ferry), but it sure would have been a spectacular route! (I'm planning an extension south to Mexico and the new container port.)
