Go to the Surface Transportation Board (STB) web site and dig around. There are maps in it's enviromental submittal. There were 2 or 3 routs being looked at, but because of politic (and people who tried to goude the feds for too much money) they a going after the route that takes off from Calente, NV, goes west then south . . . to get around the military reservation.

The one that is even better is the High-Speed rail being planned from Lancaster, CA to Las Vegas, NV . . . You have not heard about it?, well thant the plan of the people running it. They are running this one totaly low key and out of the lime light. A recent rulling (by the STB) effectively told the State of California that they could stick SEQA where the sun don't shine(ie: SEQA is the California envirnmental requirements). So maybe it will proceed and not get stopped by some yellow haired titse fly that lives under a cresote bush some where out in the middle of no where! At least the people doing this one are smarter than the idiots on the DM&E!
