My mother in law from Scottsdale is visiting this week. She works at one of the bigger hotel/resorts down there and says it has three separate nine-hole golf courses, each with the usual lush, green turf, and one has a water park and lazy river built around it. Never ceases to amaze me how those folks in the urbanized desert area of CA, NV, and AZ are allowed to continue their blatant disregard for a crucial and limited natural resource, and yet they're usually the ones who criticize and attempt to set policy for other states or regions where water use is nowhere near as wasteful.
