Quickie car history:
1005 -> to Toll Bridge Authority in 1938/39 as payment for cab signal apparatus -> purchased by Key System in 1941/42, re numbered 495 and used for tripper service during WWII -> purchased by BAERA 1954 and used on several fan trips both on the SN and Key System -> restored (at great expense) as SN 1005 between 1995 and 2010; operated occasionally at BAERA's Western Railway Museum on former SN trackage.
1019 -> to MW 301 in 1941 (still motorized) -> 1947: to MW 81, kitchen car, demotorized -> acquired by BAERA from the SN/WP in 1972, unrestored.
1020 -> to MW 302 in 1941 (tunnel inspection car, motorized) -> electrical equipment burned up in 1954, to MW 82, a bunk car -> donated to BAERA by WPRR 1965 -> restored to OA&E 1020 (control trailer) between 1975 and 2000; still operated with 1005 by WRM.
A side note: the 1009 became the MW 300 (motorized) and MW-80 in 1943 (or thereabouts), a bunk car; burned for scrap at Dozier in 1961. Of the MW 300-302, only the 302 was never painted in the SN's orange MW paint scheme.
