An also the Sacramento went south to Redondo Beach as a fishing platform. it was off of Redondo Beach anchored about a mile off shore.
The one year the operators decided to leave the Sacramento anchored off shore rather than tow it to LA harbor for safe keeping. That one Winter, which was a bad one for So Cal. Sank the Sacramento in a gale in February. I thing in the mid 70's.
My dad and brothers fished off of it several times.
