Ah OK, Thanks Jeff, although I think I have a few correction on your corrections! As I remember it (living in Dunsmuir at the time, only one coach ran down the canyon, where it was finally switched off to the MOW siding at Gibson, where it fell on it's side at probably the only place in the canyon with plain flat dirt to land on. It wasn't badly damaged, and ended up in Weed near the College of the Siskiyous as a planned house, but I think that fell through too, so I don't know where it is today.
BTW, in order to get it on that siding an SP crew had to unspike the switch before it got there!
I wasn't aware the caboose came via Fred. It's always bothered me a bit that it's a BNSF crummy in an SP town, but it did paint up pretty nice.
That flat probably got scrapped, which is a real shame as it was a US Steel casting one-piece cast flatcar body. Very unusual, IMHO.
The three Harriman coaches at YW were probably donated to the Great Western Railway Museum (Fred K's museum entity)maybe by the SP--faint memories dancing around (SP could have delivered them, since they wouldn't technically be in interchange service), by then I was in Oroville working for Solano Railcar (or going to Chico State) and wasn't keeping up on everything!
BTW, bought your McCloud book from Bob Church, hope I run into you sometime with it so I can get it signed! :)
