with guage changes etc, 16 days to go 7,456 mi. is a respectable 19.4 mph; a third slower than a US intermodal with no guage changes, no engine changes. This is the 8th IINM destination city China has begun service to. A couple years ago they started with Chengdu to Rotterdam IIRC. That train was described as havig armed guards. Still better than dealing w/ ocean going pirates I would think.
