Everyone knows that? Serious, everyone knows that?? No, not everyone knows that. Although I live in the East, I know a lot about northern California railroads, but I did not know that the last train through this area was in August 1985.
Ross, did you know that Conrail stopped using its ex-New York Central line through the Pine Creek Gorge in North Central Pennsylvania in 1988? No? Fine, no problem, I don't expect everyone to know that and I sure wouldn't call you or anyone an "ignorant slut" for not knowing that or for getting the date wrong.
On Internet railfan forums, there are foamers commenting on the stupidity of motorists and pedestrians who do not stop at grade crossings or people trespassing on railroad rights-of-way. But here, a local news reporter is trying to provide an important public service and some of you clowns just ridicule him.
Why not politely contact Stanley and advise him of the correct date of the last train and let it go at that???
By the way, is it possible he meant to say "last passenger train" instead of just "last train?"
Grow up.
