When I say "direct connection", I mean there is presently no switch in the NWP Samoa branch allowing equipment to go directly from the shops onto the mainline. The rail equipment stored at the shops is, at least for now, isolated from rail connections and therefore confined to the small amount of track laid around the shops. This, of course, is not an obstacle to the speeder operations we both mentioned.
