So Chiggen gets covered storage in the NWRM train shed for three years.

I just did a quick calc on the cost to build the storage space occupied by Chiggen: about $80,000.

Cost to build train shed: $3 Million
Total feet of track in shed: 1130'
Length of Chiggen: 30'

($3M / 1130') x 30' = $80,000

I suggest they put up a steel RV shed for $2000 and stick Chiggen under that. Then use the space in the trainshed for something in the permanent collection.

I am beginning to think that steam engines are more trouble than they're worth for a marginal museum. So far the steam program has resulted in a half done project, and a private loco taking up valuable space. Museum loses.
