That's a good insider's endorsement.
I think to run a steam program, an organization needs to be committed 110% to it, and the leaders need to be really passionate about steam. You know, places that are really good at running steam and that do it successfully, like Niles Canyon, are like that.
I suddenly thought of some old Boeing commercial projects, where engineers would work on their own time (for free!) because they loved the work and wanted the project to succeed. I think serious steam restoration guys are that way.
Snoqualmie with its largish paid staff of indifferent ladies, and its leader who has interests in other areas, is just not the right context.
