I've subscribed to Trainorders for a long time. Minimal cost. Good information. That and AP are my go to sites. I don't bother with the rest. Trainorders has some prominent industry people who subscribe too along with many rank and file pro railroaders.
There are times when I've pushed some buttons. But I've never been booted. Common sense prevails. Keep on topic (rails) and there is no problem.
Some of the crap posted on AP has turned people away from this site. One industry pro I know walked away years ago after reading some of the childlike rants on AP. A loss for AP as he had a lot of factual information to put out to fans who had a desire to learn the inside stories.
Trainorders has an employee who monitors their site. Todd has a day job. Income from the site supports the moderator along with infrastructure upgrades and hosting. The small fee also keeps troublemakers away.
