David does a great job, providing us with a forum to discuss a broad range of rail related subjects, without censorship, or the blatant bias of some of the "censored" forums, or forums that only reflect the particular "cult of personality" of that particular editor.

Putting up with noisy fools and trolls, is a cost of that "open" forum philosophy, which I admire. Fools and trolls are a small cost of the freedom to post openly, that David provides, and it is a price worth paying.....

David does a good job on pulling some of the really strange pervy and ugly nonsense when he finds it. Most of the folks who like to post about trains, usually quickly identify the sick garbage when they find it, and note it for others to avoid. As Margaret noted, just don't respond.

Ignoring the troll threads and posting real rail news has resulted in some good threads, lately.

Freedom is where you have a right to post your thoughts, even when it is nonsense, and freedom is also when you have a right not to believe nonsense, and move on with life.

The quality of input varies, just like in real life, so you get to make choices.....make them. And, if you don't like what the trolls have to say, or it is just ranting, note it, so the rest of us don't have to waste time, and move on......

Post real rail stuff.....it is the best antidote to the trolls.....and it's what most folks seem to like best about Altamont.....
