But Cemex is a Mexican company (with a USA subsiderary). They shut down the plant in Davenport and are covering the cement it would have produced by importing it from Mexico. It's the old buy out the competition and then closing them down. Now that it's been closed down for a while it would take an act of God to reopen it.

I would like to see the Calevaras Cement plant reopen in San Andreas too but that would require the plant and rail line to be rebuilt. Not gonna happen.

Even better would be the Yosemite Portland Cement plant reopening. It would require the Yosemite Valley Railroad to be rebuilt. But with the recent rain I would bet that the YV ROW would be back to being under Lake McClure. So another one that's not gonna happen.
