the group is talking 60 jobs, but this plant will also generate support industries in the area that will supply the plant which will mean more jobs and more cash for the local area.
Big problem as usual, groups want every thing nice and quiet, but the city of Vallejo is hurting...industry brings in high paying jobs and hotels, rest. and shops mean $9.00 an hour jobs and mostly just part time. the clowns that hold Mare island back are probably the same bunch that does not want the cement plant...The rail line to the plant was once very busy with a 35 to 45 car train in and out five days a week and as time goes by, this line could become very busy, but this would bring on more grippers that the trains would make too much noise and create dangerous road crossings thru Vallejo....this plant would be a good just start for Vallejo if the locals could pull their heads out of the sand....
