Test Trains on Nisqually Line

An Amtrak test train operated on the Nisqually Line (Point Defiance Bypass) between Nisqually and Tacoma today, with the Mt. Olympus TALGO set bracketed by F59PHI #470 and NPCU #90250 (with the Seattle Seahawks wrap).

The train ran at posted track speeds along the route, while local law enforcement agencies had patrol cars posted at each grade crossing in case there was a crossing signal problem.

Additional test runs are scheduled for tomorrow, Feb. 26.
