Decades ago entire containers were driven away from the Oak Island facility in NJ. News reports at the time said the robbers knew which containers had what cargo.
The issue barely mentioned in any coverage here is why was the train stopped longer than the time to change crews. The continued insistence on wasting time at the narrowest bottleneck is just stupid. NS should be blocking the trains in Elkhart where they have a much greater likelihood of conrolling access to the yard and then hand off directly to whichever western connection which in turn should get the crew on board, get an air test, and go.
Same story with the others of the big six--Chicago should not be a place for sorting cars which are simply passing through.
my tuppence.
