I observed her being pulled by YW 21 as they crossed SR3. She was a sad looking hulk with her bell, whistle and headlight missing, and her cab boarded up with plywood. An added insult was graffiti on her tender. She looked nothing like she did when I was her hoghead in 2007.
I drove out to Montague and waited for about an hour for her to arrive with intentions of taking a video, only to learn my video camera battery was dead. I managed to get about a ten second video with my cell phone.
Apparently the front step of the 19 struck a stack of rail and bent the entire structure back as it entered the Montague interchange with CORP.
Reportedly, the 19 was supposed to have been transfered by two cranes onto a flatcar, but now it seems they are going to build a "ramp." I'm visualizing how we took delivery of the MRS-1 in a similar way.
I am deeply saddened to see her go away.
