You watch your childhood railroads torn up and turned into trails and all the history go away and tell me how YOU would feel? Logic has little to do with it, it is the loss of a way of life and jobs gone. The only railroad left from that time is still there, but it is now part of the Yellow Peril and is nothing like "the friendly railroad" of my childhood.
I used to compare MCRRR 25 to UP 844, it was still on it's home railroad and still operating; sort of Northern California's answer to "the only unretired steam engine." That 844 is touted as. After all, MCRRR was a class one too.
