Landslide Hits BNSF Near Katka, Idaho

Per my warning about further rain/thaw-induced trouble likely to come after yesterday's slip-out and derailment on UP north of Moyie Springs, ID, just ten or so miles southeast of there BNSF had its Hi Line/Northern Corridor blocked by a landslide today near Katka, ID, deep in the Kootenai River canyon.

Amtraks from both directions are still moving, but unless BNSF clears this up soon, expect to see bus bridging between Spokane and Whitefish, or possibly between Sandpoint and Whitefish. Some trains already being detoured via MRL.
