The Whitcomb was scrapped many years ago. It was in Concord yard for a long time. It never belonged to BART. The contractor just abandon it when the work was done. The remaining test cars were scrapped at about the same time. There are two of the diesel hydraulic locos along with a small diesel mechanical loco, usally at the Hayward test track. About 12 years ago BART purchased several diesel driven motor flats. Since track maintenance is done at BART between 1 and 5 AM few people ever see this equipment out running. The shops all have diesel equipment to switch the shops. These are heavy hi rail equipment like a Unimog.
