645 to 567 change occured before IN&P bought them. They wanted turbocharged engines for lower fire danger and extended ramge dynamics due to grades. Loco dealer (NRE?) wanted 645s for another project. Other group of early engines were GP35s on Alco trucks - but they had factory extended range dynamics. All original engines gone from INPR which now uses various GP7/9 rebuilds for their remaining operations out of La Grande and Emmett.
