Penn Station in crisis?

seems like accelerated series of failures in the Penn Station area over the last few months

Can this just limp along endlessly or does service really stop being viable at some point? Do NJ commuters just suffer forever?

How long can urban rail system run in crisis list this? Anyone seen anything like it? I think some British systems were similarly underfunded for decades, but they struggled on until eventually there was re-investment, but we are decades or more away from that mindset in the USA
