Thanks for posting that 'continuous crossing' photo with the rotating inserts. I don't believe that I have ever seen such a system before, and didn't realize that they ever existed.


An unusual continuous diamond style that is a relatively recent style is the "Flange Bearing Diamond" that has a high speed direction, with the other direction being a low speed. The high speed is continuous, but the low speed has a gap in the normal bearing surface where the wheel flange rides on the top surface of the continuous rail of the high speed direction.
