Hardly a graveyard, if his salary at CAHSR sets his pension with PERS. He made a lot less than $395K at Caltrans (somewhere between $125K-$150K, iirc Director's salaries at the time), which otherwise would have been his top year in state service. Isn't it interesting that at Caltrans he ran an organization with more than 20K employees and near $10B ANNUALLY of work, but got paid less than half of what he got at CAHSR for a small fraction of both employees and budget?
